Going in on Dec 8th for a shoulder replacement -- could be back in the water in 6 months going well, maybe 8 months if a bit fragile. Have two great boards Laird 10'6" 32"w surfer - ankle to rib high waves it rips with the quad setup I have on. 10 month old

you could be on the water faster than you imagine.
I had full shoulder reco including bursa removed, ac joint removed, rotator cuff etc.
Was back on the board in 10 weeks.
Sup'ing was part of my rehab.

shoulder replacement and shoulder reconstruction are super different crew. I'm gonna assume the OP means reconstruction??Also a shoulder reconstruction is an umbrella term for many different things too! Just to be confusing!

Yes it is a replacement - not reconstruction, I didn't mean surfing after 6 months, but perhaps a gentle paddle in flat water to see how things go, have built a pulley system under the house and bought my first ever automatic car, try to be independent, (cut up food for instance?)


Op on the 8th Dec and parents, kids and grandkids start arriving on the 12th and last lot leave on new years eve.

Hopefully there will be so much happiness about that the pain will be pushed into the background
