Hi All,

Had someone PM me regarding our dodgy brothers el cheapo fishing set up for the SUP and thought that others might be interested. Very simple way to cart gear!

2 lengths of pvc stormwater pipe cut down the middle as the 'clamping' mechanism at the sides. Thread some elastic cord (like Occy strap) through two holes drilled in each section of pipe. The elastic cord is also threaded through the milk crate so it holds it firmly down on the board. The milk crate can be fixed either open side down so it provides a 'seat' for fishing from or open side up so it can take a water-tight drum for towels, food, phones etc when heading to the beach for the day. Hang the bait box off the side one side and a smaller diameter pvc pipe for a rod holder on the othe side and hey presto ready to fish!

Just have to work out how to fix the beach umbrella and still have somewhere to sit!

Mel

Hey JB,

what an awesome idea, the kids and I are going to try that out the next flat day.

There are some great flathead around the place so we might try some jigging.

Thanks for the heads up!

Fantastic, Mel. Thanks! (And thanks as well for being so responsive to my PM)!

I think it's especially cool the way you figured how to use big enough pieces of pipe so that they self-clamp to the side of the board, so that you don't have to run bungees beneath the board. Brilliant!

And you reckon that you can get away with stealing a fishing setup that I posted over a year ago. I'm heading down to Slater and Gordon right now.

Yeah, sorry Oliver,
I knew we had seen this set up on the breeze but in response to the PM I couldn't be bothered searching through the old threads to find yours. I just told hubby to go out the shed and take some pics. I am now waiting for law suit and for the usual crew to bag us out about the state of the shed in the background !!!

I don't know Oliver. I think Mel has made the required 17.5% variance to circumnavigate your patent. The colour, her imbroved bait box and now a built in seat. Though I must say I liked your idea of an on board toilet.

I think Oliver and Mel should have a "Fish off". Biggest fish wins all rights to the idea?

only trouble i'm having is finding the pipe. from what i can gather it's 6" PVC thin wall stuff; but the biggest anyone goes around here is 4". well, the search continues!
