Its been flat these last few weeks here in Sydney and very frustrating. Anyway on Sunday we had a small pulse in the arvo that made for a good excuse to give the Olympus u Tough 8000 Waterproof a trial - we stole it off some mates for the arvo. On the whole we were pretty pleased with it. We did get a few blurry images but I would mostly put that down to user error - it was our first attempt with it! Its very easy to use with decent sized buttons and has minimal delay. We also played with the burst function which acts like a motordrive and found this to be a very impressive feature. Am looking forward to playing with this a little more going forward.

Looks like an awesome day. If you dont mind me asking how much did your mate pay for the Olympus 8000?

I think they paid around $600 from Dick Smiths. Duty free its going for around $480 if you know anyone leaving the country ot visiting you.

Great surf this morning with a few shoulder high sets coming in - the biggest its been for over 2 weeks! Stoked.

They are $400-500 on ebay. There's no such thing as duty free anymore, just tax free which means you save the GST.

Most overseas ebay purchases avoid that ... unless customs decide to hold your package up. Generally that won't happen on packages less than $1000.
