Hi Guys,

I am considering organising a social paddle and race followed by a bbq in the next few weeks to help raise sponsorship for my solo paddle.

Paddle from Trigg to Hillarys or vice versa depending on the wind an weather. Those who want to race can race and those who just want to join in the fun can cruise.

All people who enter are to pay a small entry fee that will go to the Royal Flying Doctor. I am working on hunting down some merchandise that can be used for prize give aways for those who enter. Name in hat style.

I am aiming to keep it simple and fun with the option for race or just social paddle!!!!

So if you would be interested in attending please reply here. If I have enough interest I will get stuck into doing some organising.

I was thinking the weekend before the school holidays which is the weekend of the 26/27th September. Hopefully the weather changes by then.

Any more takers?

I'd love to hear how you go SUPing Yardie Deejay. Nice wave.

I think the easiest way would be to have registration and payment before the paddle on the day and hopefully people don't pull out.

I'll come if I can borrow my sister's partner's 10'5". Last time I went on a downwinder with Hilly & Basecurve, Hilly's 12-footer left us on our 9'6"s several hundred metres in its wake
Not that we wanted to win, just keep up & not wear out the shoulders

If it's an early morning paddle I'm in, but if late morning count me out as I have to work Saturday & Sunday arvo.

Great! Don't worry, some other crew and I only have 9fter's so Im not expecting to break any records!

So thats got numbers up around the 10 mark.......Still need a few more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friends and family welcome to come down. There is a great bbq area and public showers available. If its quite windy we can always move into the marina.

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies. We are now standing at around 13 people who are keen to join in which is great! It is a really lovely paddle along that stretch of coastline!

Spread the word to friends! The paddle gives you the opportunity to win a great prize whilst supporting the Royal Flying Doctor!

Weather depending I was leaning towards the Saturday too. So hopefully it works out.

Thanks for letting me know Greenroom.

I wonder if the local dolphins will turn up to escort us??? I have had two dolphins escort me for about 3km on a paddle along there. They were popping up for air and playing around about 4 inches in front of my board like they do when riding a bow of a boat! One even kept swimming under me turning on his side and having a look at me! Magic.

Hello All,

Unfortunately a few crew have pulled out of the paddle so I don't have enough numbers to run it as an event.

It looks like not only have I chosen to run it on the first long weekend in ages, I have chosen to run it on grand final weekend. Yeah, not smart Theresa!!!!!! Oh and it is also the first weekend of the school holidays!!!!!! No wonder I was struggling to pull a crowd!

Thanks to all of you who were keen to come down and join in. I really appreciate your support. Perhaps we can all go for a fun cruise another time without all the bells and whistles.

Thanks again,

Rezzie
