Problem solved:

1. Find an old vacuum cleaner up the back of the garage.
2. Take off the brush attachment leaving the bare nozzle (tube) exposed.
3. Cut the corner off a snap-lock bag (sandwich size), leaving a hole just big enough to slide over the exposed nozzle of the vacuum.
4. Cut across the top of the snap-lock bag, removing the snap-lock mechanism.
5. Tape the big opening of the bag around the vent hole of your board, making an airtight seal.
6. Tape the small opening of the bag around the exposed nozzle of the vacuum, making an air tight seal.
7. Organise your board so that the vent is at the lowest point and facing down with the vacuum hanging downwards from the vent.
8. Fire that sucker up and watch the water get drained out through the little window created by the bag.
9. Keep it running until black smoke comes flying out of the vacuum.
10. Don’t tell the wife what you were using the vacuum for.
11. Act stupid when she asks you why there is water in the dust bag.

Or...put your board in sauna. Stand it up with the drainage hole at the lowest point, leave it for about 15 - 20 minutes ( check on it periodaclly that it's not getting too hot).

This really works - did it once!

Its a 1 way valve so dont take it out unless you want water to get in. It will also allow for air to expand when it gets hot (like when you leave it on the roof racks). If you don't allow the air to escape out of the valve it will find other ways to get out, which is not good.

Check this site... boardlady.com/

There is quite a lot of information on getting water from an EPS core board here. Unfortunatly if there is water in there is is very difficult to get out. Easy way, I never take my valve out on my SUPs or Windsurfers unless they are about to be put on a plane and have never had any trouble. The only thing then you need to check from time to time is that the rubber o-ring on the screw hasn't perished.

If you know someone with a van long enough to fit it in. Just stick it in there with the valve at the lowest point. Wind the windows up park it in the sun and just keep an eye on it or lay it accross the roofing beams close to the roof in the shed gets plenty hot enough in the shed.

when the vaccumecleaner gets to wet you may find sparks can fly out, best remedy place the vacume n the oven.but make sure you put the timer on as you will find the plastic mouldings tend to changeto an unrecogniseable shape if left to long. you will have some explaining todo.
