Anyone got any advice regarding grip? I've been paddling for only a month or so, and after a long paddle on NYE I woke up with soreness on the inside of each thumb, down near the main joint. I may be holding the paddle incorrectly. Still sore three days later!

I also found the QB handle a bit squishy and yet so many people use them and like them.

Just wondering if it's your lower hand or top hand that's causing this issue.

IMO.. The lower hand is not a full fisted grip and the top hand should be fairly relaxed.. So it may be a technique thing.

I think Quick Blade paddles have a few different shape handles and it might be worth trying a different shape.. AA should know.

Good luck with it.. Some others here might know more about what's going on because I've never had any thumb or hand problems.

Maybe it's caused when you swap sides and let the top hand go and swapping hands in the middle of the shaft.. and it may pass in time.

Thanks DJ - good point re top or bottom hand. I just assumed it was the top but it may be the bottom. Will investigate it more.

Cheers

The only upside to all of this is when you masturbate, it may feel like someone else is doing it.

how big are your hands? If you've got relatively small hands or you're a chick maybe the shaft is too big for you to comfortably grip/ QBs have fairly thick shafts try demo a naish paddle or a kia loa is even thinner

I am a guy with average to large size hands and even i find the QB a handful sometimes. Never had the thumb problem but
