Not to happy with the naf deck grip I put on my 12er, especially after getting the 10 footer with the PSH grip already on. It is much harder and gives really good grip the stuff I had on the 12er felt slimy in comparison.

I saw this deck grip and got thinking.

Talked AA at Balmoral Boards or www.paddlesurfing.com.au/ he had off cuts at a very reasonable price.

Came up with a rough design. I want a kick tail this time as I get the foot back and not that sure how close to the tail I am.

Then I had to get the stuff I put on 5 months ago (You idiot) I suggest doing it properly the first time this is a pig of a job. This stuff was good, a lot of elbow grease required.

Came off really well in the end, rapt no dents at all after having 105kg on it for 6 months and I use it a lot.

Slice, dice and stick down next couple of days

Finally finished - big girl not such a wallflower next to the 10er now.

Why the Seahorse??

The Ancient Greeks and Romans believed the seahorse was an attribute of the sea god Neptune/Poseidon and as such, the seahorse was considered a symbol of strength and power.

Further, the ancient Europeans believed that the seahorse carried the souls of deceased sailors to the underworld - giving them safe passage and protection until the met their soul’s destination.

Chinese cultures believed that the seahorse was a type of sea dragon, and as such they were revered for their power and thought to be symbols of good luck.

Sailors have long viewed the seahorse as a good luck charm too.

About 6 beers

Couple of hours - best to let the desolvit sit and soften the glue, wipe off as much glue as possible, repeat. It actually was not as bad as I expected. Just take your time.

WoW!

That would have to be one the best deck grip designs Ive seen!

Bloody good job great choice with the seahorse.

Did you have to wipe the deck with a bit of accetone after you used the De-solv-it
or was Ok to stick the new grip down straight after?

I think you win the 2009 sea breeze "Leyland Bros" memorial award for most distance covered in search for waves.

Hey doggie just the 10er and 12er would love a smaller one as well but the finance committee may not agree. Rode a 9 9 mano the other day awesome board when ever you step down in size it feels good. Might have to ride the 12er for a bit and then go back to the 10er.
Will have a play on the 9 6 coreban soon too. All good

Margs is the bomb on a sup so many spots can't wait
