Welcome to the Breeze Manuel.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

If you mean can you stand up paddle a normal long board I would say no.

I know I could not SUP my mal (long board).. I'm sure a light weight kid could but it would be way too tippy for me.

If you mean can you surf a SUP board like a longboard.. Sure.. .. depending on the type of SUP board because there are many types out there now.

At your weight (135kg) you should get yourself something like the 10' Naish Mana or 10' Starboard Whopper.. You'll love it I'm sure.. .. Ka!..

I used to have an 11' Watercooled SUP and it was great for regular surfing as it was around 3 3/4" thick. I often ride an 11' Munoz surfboard so it wasn't too differnt. Had a good time surfing another 10'3" glass SUP in small waves.

You can use a SUP as a longboard. Just be careful because the traction pad can give you some nice rash.

Aloha

Byron

P.S.My son doesn't own a longboard but used an SUP to take 2nd place in a longboard contest. Funny thing was twice the anouncer admonished/reminded him of the maximum wave limit.

Oh.. I get it now.. (I think).

You are wondering if you can normal surf a SUP board?

If that's what you want to do the 10' Mana and 10' Whopper might be too wide to hand paddle.. A quick demo will answer that.

Might be an interesting study. First paddle out at a packed surf break prone surfing on a SUP then go out with the paddle, I wonder if the reaction from the crew would be similar.

Hi Manuel, yes you can longboard on a SUP! I started off on a 12'0 Munoz longboard as there were no sup boards in oz at the time.
In fact our 11'6 model was an original longboard/tandem board and still can be used like that today!
At 135kg this board will be perfect for you.

I ride regular style my 12ft Munoz at 26 inch wide it's not that bad when paddling.
I tried a 10ft Laird the same way at Waikiki and your arms are so wide that your
paddling style and power are compromised.
You could also try paddling on your knees but I found if you havent got a flat stomach plus the height above water your strokes are not as stong.
Demo is the only way to find out.

Hey Manuel,

I have regularly ridden our Imperial 8'4 x 4 x 26 shortboard sup as a big boys shorter board and it rips.

The Dale Chapman DC 8 x 25 x 3'1/4 (now 8 x 26 x 31'4) is designed to be a paddle board for the kids and a homer board for dad to take out as a bigger fish and it also rips.

I have also ridden the 9'6WAA as a longboard and as long as your foot is right back over the fins your in business. This board will prone paddle onto a ripple.

The best option by far is the 12 x 26 x 4 Mickey Munoz Gun, set up as a thruster it is a big boys ripping tool. As a surf board at 135kgs you will love this board.
