Don't wish too hard...but...it looks pretty awesome for Saturday. 15-18 knots NNE is about as good as it gets for this course.

The starting line-up is looking pretty hot too. It will be worth a trip to some of the headlands (Whaley, Newport, Warriewood and Long Reef) to see Travis and Beau going head to head. Some of the other Qlders should go OK but watch out for Steve and Sam who have stepped it up a notch in the last month.

Now to the admin:

Rego: from 11am. Aim to get there by 11.00ish as driving to Palmie and finding a park always takes longer than you think on the weekend.

Start time: 1PM for SUPs. Later for skis.

PFDs: you must wear them. No bum bags. There will be over 300 paddlers (skis, OCs and SUPs) and everyone has to comply - they are pretty tough on this one due to all the dramas that SLS have had with safety issues in the last few years.

The Course: Will probably be a beach start if the surf is not too big. Then around a buoy and straight to Freshy. SUPs do not need to go around the Nth Steyne bouy - just straight into the finish - BUT make sure you attend the race briefing for final confirmation.

Prizemoney:
Men
1st 500
2nd 400
3rd 300
4th 200
5th 100

Prize Draws - windsurfnsnow:
As an added bonus, those who pre-enter by Thursday midnight (including those who have entered for the series) will go in the draw for one of "6" $100 vouchers to spend at series sponsor windsurfnsnow

Series Prizes - based on best 3 races:
As the 20 Beaches is a double points race, results from this race will determine who gets the 4 flights to Perth for the Doctor race on January 19. In the event of a tied score - the higher placing in the 20 Beaches wins.

Nice write-up by Chris: www.supracer.com/20-beaches-stand-up-paddle-race-2012/

Good to see the Queenslanders supporting the race. Will be quite a variety of boards on show in a real mix of conditions.

Ange - so you're not coming???

For those doing the race, don't be put off by the first 4kms. It will be pretty bumpy but should clean up after that...

Looking like great conditions. Sounds like there will be some talented paddlers racing including Danny Ching and the Queensland crew.
This is going to be fun.... I think.
Please have beer waiting for me at the finish Kissa.

What sort of time would you expect most to complete it in with the breeze forecast ?

Want to try and make it down to grab some photos.
