PT Woody lent me his spanking new All Star, so I took it to the beach and shot some footage. Hopefully there's enough details there for all you equipment porn lovers. I was amazed at the sharpness of the rails, and how light it is. The 26" actually has the lowest volume (235l) of the 14' boards. The 25" has 238l and the 27.5" has 259l so I can't wait to see where they differ.

This was filmed at Sandridge Beach, Port Melbourne, with the Spirit Of Tasmania berthed in the background. It is the venue for the upcoming Great Melbourne Paddle on December 2nd.

Sick vid and sick board!!
I used the 12'6x 27.5' Alstar in the Coolum BOP, It's surprisingly went very well, seemed to punch through the 1-2 foot waves nicely and had a heap of speed around the course. But the best part it surfed so gooood!! I think this board is going to be a winner for Starboard?

Can't wait to have a go on it, although at 235l might be a little light on for 100kg paddler like myself. Can't wait to see when the 27.5 comes in.

Paddled the 14'X27.5 at Merimbula, with 100kg's on it
solid as a rock very stable punching through the chop feels great the nose design slices the water very well, But when the swell is bigger and the nose dives through the wave and pops straight back up.when running down wind the volume in the nose is great with just a small step back it just runs along on the swell.

I also paddled it and it was very good and felt fast.. Although I would not say 'solid as a rock'.. It did have secondary stability but needed to be tipped a fair way over to feel it.. I guess it depends what you're used to.. Can't wait to see PT on a downwinder.. I love the smaller nose so it should pierce without going boof... Great job with the vid.

Paddled our 26" demo on the weekend in some chop and seemed ok for me @ 93kg. Was picking up small runners easily.

Picked mine up the other week (26inch), have done a few dw runs on it. Its got heaps of glide and i like the way the nose cuts the water. Im standing much further back on this board compared to my old coast runner. Catches the runners with ease and have got it over 20km/h. I reckon you need a bigger fin than the one supplied by starboard the arse end feels a bit loose at times and wants to overtake the nose!! What do other guys reckon who have dw with it?

We haven't really had any decent wind since mine arrived but the few waves or bumps I've managed to find, it certainly feels a lot more lively than the Coast Runner so maybe a bigger fin is the answer to that.
