Not the way to end a week’s holiday at Crescent Head, woke up this morning with one of 3 sups missing.

ECS 8'10 wide boy. (bag and paddle were not taken)

It is properly long gone and never to be seen again but be aware if one comes up for sale soon.

It is very identifiable. (Apparently only 3 sold in Australia)

Yes we know we should have had it under lock and key.

Sorry to hear that, were you camping?

I've heard so many stories about the same thing at the same place, boards, wetsuites, cloths.

I wish you luck on its return, pricks!

Sorry to hear that 66, a rotten way to end a holiday.

It's a pity that, that sort of scum spoils things for other people.

Not too many boards like that up here on the Sunshine Coast so will keep an eye out.

Cheers.

Yes glamping/camping, in caravan park cabin, taken of front veranda, easy access from front car park and golf course out back.
also found a leg rope cut clean in half on another board.

That is how much they like sups at Crescent! Sad but lots of theft in Kempsey Shire and police flat out trying to keep up. Careful down the back beaches when leaving cars unattended as well as in town. Best of luck getting it back.

That sux, I was up there at the end of October, first night saw some people walking through the caravan park that I didn't think were staying there so I was careful to lock everything up after that. Castration would be a suitable punishment if they ever get caught.

That's bad luck mate, we camp there every year and have only had a bit of trouble this year.
I had my whole quiver up there and none was touched. But we had a couple of 6packs taken one night, so the next day we drank a coulpe of 6 packs and refilled them and sealed them back up. Only to be taken again from the front of camp. Haha, take that suckers!

Lots of theft up there. At nearby PP as well. The MO at Crescent is to take them back up the creek to the back of a certain property. Apparently the cops are aware of it, but don't like to upset significant locals.

Yes, after speaking to some other long time campers there, "the" house up the creek has many items just waiting to be found, one guy went up there a few years back looking for his kids bikes and an esky that went missing, bikes found and taken back, but his esky was not there so he up graded to a better esky they had laying around.

Or maybe some one was pi$$ed of at sup riders out on the point catching the odd wave after waiting their turn.

We are home now so next to no chance of getting sup back

Haha yeah I was surprised with the amount of attitude towards SUP's there particularly when there were some bad (non SUP) wave hogs out there - guys paddling straight inside of everyone to take off over the rock making maybe every 6th wave but calling everyone off so most waves went un-ridden or the guys who would paddle out round the point to take off on a big foamie stay laying down for 40 meters until it reforms just to get the wave.

Yeh, I have always found Crescent to have a large number of snakes. You sit waiting your turn and they paddle past and inside by a foot and want the next wave. Never sup'd there, dont think I could be bothered.
Bugger about the theft. You earn what you have, for some half-wit to steal it. Don't like the layout of the caravan park there much, too open and too much access. Hope all works out.

I am with you Sandy.

In my experience the two placess that are supposed to be laid back and exhibit surfing history and commaraderie are the worst palces for snakes, hasslers and drop ins.

Unfortunately it is generally locals who are the perpertrators. You guessed it Noosa First Point and Crescent Head.

Shame because they are both great surfing locations.

Cheers lads.

Last December I got some dawn waves at The Pass by myself and by 8am it was the usual zoo.

I was told that SUP's were banned from The Pass and to move on.....I ignored that warning. How ridiculous.

Ben Bennick from 'In Byron Bay Today' was shooting and grabbed some shot's of a nice one I snagged.

He came up to me in the car park and said 'sorry, can't post on the web page as the locals would be none to pleased and it would advertise that SUP's are OK out there when they are banned'.

This is The Pass - the 8th wonder of the world, a place of peace, beauty and tranquility.....it did and still does annoy me and being there in 3 weeks, I'll be first out pre sunrise and get some while they sleep.

PS: The locals at Cres'n'ed have always been dick heads and it's heavier than most Sydney breaks IMHO.

The bigger issue is they follow up the lip service with actions (pinching peoples belongings a case in point). Ridiculous x 2.

What a load of crap. SUP's banned at the pass. I SUP surfed there everyday for three weeks in May and never had a word said to me. There were one or two other SUPs out as well as me.

If you check with The Water Police and Maritime NSW they will tell you that one type of surf craft has no preference over another. Boats and Jet Skis have rules there are no official rules for Surfcraft. However there is etiquette and that is missing with a lot of people.

Another case of Wankers asserting themselves. The noisier you are the more you are heard.

FARKING WANKERS .

The so called locals at Byron are dead set wankers , most of them are blow in's themselves and border on kook status when it comes to surfing , tell them to go f!ck themselves.

I've always found the locals at Crescent to be a bit soft - the odd word followed by no action.. Maybe it's because I'm used to NN. In over 30 years of surfing up there I've only had one issue and it was from a goat boat. I'm a gumby on a surf SUP as it's the only time I ride one in the surf and even I get plenty of waves with no hassle.

Don't panic everyone, but I just went onto the Byron Bay - Pass surfcam and there are two, yes two, SUPers out at the Pass.

I wonder who they got permission off.

Just hang wide at Burleigh, no problems. If you try and mix it up at the point which is generally super crowded , expect trouble and doubts cast upon your parentage and be told in which sexual direction in which to travel.
