My legs get really sunburnt when I'm out paddling. Doesn't matter how much or how often I put sunscreen on.

Has anybody used Skins to stop sunburnt legs? Or something similar?

An suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

I wear under armour leggings, not for sun protection but they seem to work for that. I'm guessing any of the brands (bsc, skins, under armour etc) would do the job half decently just check their uv rating.

^^^^ i think its the other way around pasty white legs don't like the sun

There is a suite that the clubbys (life savers) use for sun/stingers that's UV rated and i know they have long pants as well. also try some dive shops.
And the best tip wear boardies over them or you will look like a D!ck
No only joking, the suites look like a wetsuit

Hey Ads
As a longstanding surfer who had a melanoma some years ago I have a healthy paranoia re the sun.Co incidentally I remove them from people for a living...
I wear cheap 'skins' in the middle of the day or if on hols in the tropics etc
You might look a bit of a dill but who cares?
I do put boardies on over the top in a attempt to insult the eyes of others a little less

Hey there,
I,m in a situation where I have to be careful of sun exposure. I use a liposomal sunscreen-this one http://www.daylong.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=73&Itemid=95&lang=english
You only need to apply it once a day (more if you are in the water a lot) but it is expensive ($60!!).
As far as ordinary sunscreens, reapplication depends on the sunscreen but the problem is that it may rub off as you get back on your board etc, meaning it needs to be reapplied.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I work in a dive shop but apart from Lycra rash pants (hot to paddle in) or Sharkskin (which is a thermal suit- great in the colder months) there is nothing suitable.

Might have to check out the skins option or the expensive sunscreen.

Boardies over skins or the like is a definite yes. Legs aren't too pasty now that I don't live in Melbourne any more

Cheers
