I wish I had the room. Things are a bit tight in my Garage.

Mine lies on the floor but I have seen good setups that use rollers you can slide your board onto the rack with.

That is tight I have plenty of wall space but no real floor space.

I have to leave 2 miles of space for the wife to get into the garage
Anything inside that is toast.

Your a man of many talents DJ

I was looking at this rack type but with PSH being 30inch almost wide it will put a lot of pressure on the rack.

Here's my Bunnings option. It cheap & keeps the kids from walking on them or the wife parking her car on them?
2 sups, 1 longboard & 2 short board no problem.

I'm in favour of covers to protect my investment.

Great, Do you know if it is a model of rack from them or did you just make it up from parts.

How wide is you widest board?

I made them up from off the shelf parts. Most hardware stores have various size brackets. I just brought the heaviest duty I could find & one length of timber I cut to size. Cheap & easy & these ones have been up for years.

My widest board is 29".

I have those shelves that fit into a slotted track on the wall (I can't remember what they're called. elfa storage systems ??? )

The big ones are good for about 30kg each.

At the moment i just use these saw horses, a few months ago i bought a new house with a big 40 foot by 20 foot shed so when i've satisfied the wife with the reno's i'm going to build a nice little storage system on one of the 20 foot walls enough storage for a couple of more boards and paddles

The easiest access I had was a shelf and side loading.

A rolling type cross rack is ok but you need to leave enough space at the end to tilt it as you slide it in.

If you were going to keep it in a bag then a simple hook on the wall would do. You'd have to pad the fin if it was anywhere near traffic. A collision could slice bits off you.

I used to have a single point strap thing fgr hanging sailboards on the wall. That was a hassle because you have to support the board while positioning the straps. It's too easy to get wobbley and drop the board or bash the end of the board.

Just a couple of shelf supports, a few dyna bolts and some rubber covering with duct tape does a reasonable job

Hey Piros..the old canoe was given to us a few years ago. It is originally from Wallis Island which is a Polynesian French Island territory in the South Pacific between Fiji and Samoa. It was bought back to Australia by a Missionary and is dated around 1910.

We intend (one day) to sand it back and varnish etc for inside the house. Did I say "One Day" ??
