Summer weather in the month of July is a rare thing here in Melbourne..but today it was just that...Beautiful, calm, warm and sunny.

Here's some pics from todays SUP.

We started from Mentone beach and headed towards Rickets Piont..The water was clear and glassy..Helke was rugged up for Winter weather but it was so warm she had to strip off (just her jacket)

We headed around the point towards the Rickets Point cafe..There was an off shore wind blowing at about 2 knots..

This is the Cafe at Rickets...We had only been paddling for an hour but a cold drink was on the agenda.

Rickets is always busy these days but I didn't expect it to be so packed on a weekday..But it was.

Helke had a healthy mango smoothie and I had a coke.

It looked like they were growing customers in a big greenhouse.

We walked back to the Naish twins that we waiting for us near the water.

We then headed back along the cliffs and the temperature seem to drop about ten degrees in the shade.

It's late afternoon and getting ready to pack up.

After windsurfing all these years packing up after SUP'ing is the best part....Board on..Job done.. (two minutes max) ..

You get to learn to love winter in Melbourne. The good days are pretty rare but when they come along everyone comments on it and makes the most of it. I rode my bike to work for the first time in a few weeks and crossed the Yarra which was like a mirror this morning. I knew you guys would be out enjoying it. I really like it around rickets point - nice reefs to look at - the water looks pretty clear also.

Is that your ambassador t-shirt dj? Pfffft

I knew you guys would be out - I was thinking about you while staring out the window at work, overlooking the mirror calm water at docklands.
I can't wait to do the Mentone/Ricketts Point trip, the cliffs area looks great.
I'm going to do an Oliver......get really pissed and buy stuff online. Then it really will be a surprise when it turns up!

Yeah I think you are better off doing it really pissed.

I was sober when I bought the dud camera on ebay.
