WIN a Carbon Starboard Paddle.

Come to the next club day and be in the running to WIN a Carbon Starboard Paddle.

That's right we are gving one away. You must be a financial member before the club day to be in the running. For details on how to be a financial member please see below.

Okay this is going to be fun. We are giving the paddle away during a race. Actually it is a "Dash and Dig" race (concept adapted from an idea from Peasy). All paddlers will line up about one kilometre off shore (greater distance for boards greater then 12'6 and shorter distance for surf boards). It is a race to the beach then a run into a enclosed area. the prize object will be buried in the sand. First to find it wins it.

On top of this we will also be awarding a great Carbon Paddle from F-one to a member who renewed their membership before the 30th of September. Membership number will be randomly drawn at the club day.

Thanks to F-One and Starboard for these great prizes.

Preceeding this race there will be a club surf contest. More prizes announced soon.

Club Day will be:

Primary Location: Noosa Access 11

It is going to be held off Moffats near Two Way with a triangle course that will include a great leg that will have swell pushing you in (not the wave zone but great runners). The total course will have a number of laps that will total 10km.

For more info and how to enter please read below. I urge you to get involved

On the 27th of October Christian Surfers will be hosting the 'Paddle for Poverty' event which is taking place at Moffat Beach. This event aims to raise money in order to build a well for a compassion village.

The population of Brisbane dies every year due due to a lack of clean water; unsafe toilets and dirty water are leading causes of illness among children. 28% of all child deaths are caused by unclean water. Christian Surfers wants to make a difference to this statistic, and wants YOU to be a part of this! So if you're up for a challenge, a good work out, good times and want to support a great cause that will make a difference in alleviating people from poverty, come to Moffat Beach at 12.30pm on the 27th of October, and join the 'Paddle For Poverty'.

We are going to paddle 10km, it doesn't matter what board you ride, there is even the option of entering a 'Team' so come join this fun community event. Cost to [/b]enter the 'Paddle for Poverty' is $55 single entry and $120 per team entry (4 people). All the funds that are raised for the event go towards water purification projects through Compassion Australia (www.compassion.com.au/).

If you want to be involved go to: www.facebook.com/paddleforpoverty and leave your name, phone number and what board you want to paddle, pay on the day. There will be divisions to cover many different board types, e.g. Surf Ski, Long boards and Stand up Paddle. For the competitive crew, there will be prizes for the winners of each division.

To follow the 'Paddle for Poverty' there will be live music and a film. The night event is to raise awareness of extreme poverty. Christian Surfers Australia in conjunction with Compassion Australia and the Australian Christian Channel have produced the film, 'Living on Cloud Nine' This film shows four local teenage surfers experiencing first hand poverty in the Philippines. (www.facebook.com/livingoncloudnine). Bands will kick off at 5.00pm followed by a free showing of 'Living on Cloud Nine'.
