The next day will be next Sunday on the 11th of October. With the current wind prediction we will most likely be at the Mooloolaba Spit at the end of Parkyn Parade. If the prediction is true we should have a nice wave through the bay over the bombie. This makes for a great SUP wave. The pocket of the bay also is very safe for the kids so bring them along.

The Prediction

If it drops out and stays Southerly we may have the surf comp at Buddina and the family day at Labalsa Park. This will all be confirmed and posted here on Saturday 10th of October.

Along with our regular crew from Kite Action (Naish nand Starboard) and Caloundra Wind and Surf Factory Outlet (Coreban, Kinetic Energy and Starboard) we will also have Jamie from Global Surf Industries with a large range of Demo Boards that are just new in. These include 9' MacTavish, 10'2" Uberfish, 10'6" NSP and 10'4" Walden.

Karl Angel from Angel Surf Photography will be back to take more shots in the surf and as you may remember the last lot looked great.

Look forward to seeing many there and all visitors are welcome.

The location is still up in the air until Saturday, but it looks like it may not be as big now. If it becomes a nice beach break we may host it on Buddina Beach.

Yes this is an attempt to keep it on the first page so that more people see it

Could be a possibility. The only thing to avoid here is the Caloundra malibu club and they have a comp there on the 18th.

What is the surf like there at the moment? Where would you suggest doing the family kid races? Two way??

Perfect on the lake for the kids,[pending e-colii count]bit of a carry from the car park with all the gear.

If its small and low tide it will only break outside with no nasty shorey.
If its high tide its stiil pretty gentle in close.
The big boys can go out the back and play- girls, kids and demos inclose or on the lake.
Distance race we could just go round the shark drums,1k out ,1k back.

Still just a suggestion.

The forecasters can't make up their mind. Yesterday they had a swell predicted that would make a nice SUP wave at Mooloolaba . This arvo they had it dropping out and going to be small. NOW they are predicting great surf that hopefully will swing in enough on our coastline.

This is why we leave the call untill Saturday.

It is looking exceptionally good. Pray to the surf Gods that it stay like this. The swell for Sunday is reading 3.4m. The swell direction is SSE with 11 Second periods. If this holds true we should have the dream wave through Mooloolaba bombie. There is still a safe place in the pocket for the kids and Demos aswell.

The swell does not seem to be making it cleanly onto our beaches. The wind forecast is for about 10 knots ESE on Sunday morning. There is also the chance of the odd shower. We will make a call latter today but would appreciate any feedback before we do. These are the current charts and also some pictures from access 4 Buddina at 7am this moring (the wind was about 16 knots S when I took the shot.

As we want to make this for the kids aswell we have the following options.
1) Surf at Buddina access 4 then Family day / Board Demos at 9am at Labalsa Park
2) At the spit Mooloolaba for a social Surf (unless the swell kicks up with the change of direction forecasted) and Family Day and Demos at the same spot. This will be a safe fun paddle and some races etc. aswell. Flat with small runners.
3) Other Ideas

Images of Access 4 Buddina 7am with 16 knot Southerly. The swell is meant to turn from South to SSE today so this may bring a nice wave into the bay.

Decision will be posted this arvo.

As the conditions are not suiting a surf comp we will just have the Family Day at Mooloolaba Spit. We will get under way with races at 9am. Head down Parkyn Parade right to the end. We have a range of prizes as listed above but will vary the comps as there is no surf. We also have a SUP leggie to give away curteousy of Peter Nitschke at
www.caloundrawindandsurf.com

Jamie from GSI is bringing along a new Alloy Paddle to raffle for the club aswell. Ticket will be $10 each. Great chance to win.

Louie is back so he will have the BBQ fired up.

For those who want a social surf early a group of us are going to paddle across to Carties at about 7:30.

Come along and have a great day.
