Yeah I use that technique sometimes in bigger surf when there are other surfers around
or I'm just inside the broken lip. It keeps the board in front of you which makes recovery
quicker to avoid the next one, keeps it in one piece and most importantly doesn't end up
behind you cleaning up an inocent surfer.

any tips on how to do it? how much face-time did your board get before your perfected it? I seem to get smashed by the board enough already in wipeouts.
