Ummm, yeah - there's a popular little break called Bells Beach!

Point Danger, Jan Juk, 13th Beach...that's just the few within 5mins drive/walk.

Edit - Bells may not be the friendliest place to be on a sup if it's cranking. The locals can be a bit territorial (although probably friendlier than many spots around the country).

I'd take a drive to Ocean Grove, heaps of friendly SUP crew there or pm me I could probably meet you there depending on the day and of course the waves.

13th is good, not the main car park, head further along to the last car park on the left, beach side (first on the right if youre driving from Torquay) , only really good at 3ft+ and high tide.
same with Ocean Grove main beach.
Do not sup at Bells unless you want agro!
Try Point Impossible, its a nice reef and rides well most states of tide, lots of grumpy longboarders there so be warned.
if your staying in Torquay main beach is ok but gets a bit busy over on the right (the best break)
Point danger is opposite but is no goo at low tide, lots of shallow reef and strong current there too.
Round the point from point danger you have cosy corner, that works well with a nice lazy wave if the conditions are 3+

When you headed down? We're often out all the way along there depening on wind/size/tide

Roadknight is only any good if its 5ft+ out front, has a nice long ride if its working though, also a good place to hide from a westerly.

Then you have point Addis, next to Bells, that's a nice reef too.....

Enjoy..

It's going to depend on what you're after and whether you're competent. Unless you surf reasonably well (by short board standards) and know how to mind your manners, you really don't want the goings on which are part and parcel of the good crowded waves, which is the same as everywhere. The sup-friendly waves are all easy to find and easy to get out at, though the tide, wind and swell are all going to affect your options.

if you pm me I'm happy to help out, there are heaps of waves so you'll be fine.
cheers

Point Danger or Pt Roadknight...beachies if you competent....you could be lucky to get out of the carpark with a SUP if Bells is any good....and you will defo get a told where you should and shouldn't be at Torquay Point(there may also be some chance of equipment breakage if you are in the wrong spot)
