Hi guys, just wondering how many of you have travelled interstate or overseas with a full length sup paddle ? Any thoughts or experiences on how to best protect the paddle would be greatly appreciated.Rodriguez.

Just while we are on this what is the biggest sup someone has got on a plane ?

There are plenty of good covers around , FSC even have them. Just tape cardboard to the nose and tail and put cardboard on the rails thats how they come from China.

Piros, I was really more concerned with the Paddle . As for the boards, I use bubble wrap and cardboard on the nose and tail, never had a problem travelling twice a year for ten years or more.Virgins max length is 9-10, approx a shade under 3 metres. I'm trying to avoid $'s on adjustable paddles, not sure how good they would be anyway

I've been to Bali and back via Singapore with the paddle wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard. No problems.
They did question what it was made out of entering back into OZ, once they new it was carbon fibre all was sweet.

That's what I'm interested in too-travelling with a bunch of short boards is hard enough-but a SUP????

Anyone care to share experiences?

Took an 11 foot board and paddle on a plane to PNG. Air Niugini were pretty good about it. All I had to do was check the board in at the oversized counter.

I *think* it was a 767. Definitely a Boeing
