nice attempt, not an easy way to get into, seems to form way to fast and jagged to get a sup down, around and off the bottom.
Also that thing he was on looked short with a big upturned nose, and he got slammed for burying his nose, and even if you make that section, now you get to avoid a big fat lip smacking you on the head.

waves like that (fast barrelling reefs) seem to not be the natural habitat of a sup, so big up on the effort, looks like a nice comfortable white water smashing coming up.

As I am not familiar with these powerful "slab" conditions (waves hollowing suddenly), I wonder, what would be your favored approach? Go for a longer board (or a faster rocker) to enter the wave earlier, or a shorter board for a later takeoff and less chance of catching the nose? Or just more rocker?
