Yeah thanks, I have seen that too. This article was posted on the 8th of august 2011, And there is a later article that stats council approval.

Yallingup Mainbreak could host a Stand Up Paddle Board World Tour event later this year if Busselton Shire Council approve and support a Surfing WA bid for the event.

If successful, Yallingup would be the only destination in WA to host one of the international fixtures and one of only two in Australia.

Established in 2009 to address the exponential growth in the sport, the tour was said to now reach 170 television networks in 220 countries worldwide and attract a live audience of up to 25,000 at a time.

Council events coordinator Tanya Gillett said it was a great opportunity to be part of a growing sport and hoped it would become an annual event.

Dunno how they will go with that, main break has a lot of comps there during the year. Perfect wave for it tho, beatings aplenty if it gets big

jrrips, I've spoken to the CEO of the SUP World Tour and the event has been postponed till 2012. The good news is that the SUP World Tour will also be setting up a racing series next year from what I've heard. There's more info on the Watermans League website.
