Outside of micro-blogging sites such as Twitter and Instagram, Ireland Baldwin and her boyfriend Slater Trout haven't gone into much detail about their relationship.
The is, until now.
The teen couple recently opened up about how they feel about each other, what they do when they are together and -- perhaps most importantly -- how Ireland's celebrity mother Kim Basinger, 59, and father Alec Badwin, 55, feel about the professional stand-up paddle boarding Hawaiian who has their daughter so smitten.

'I would say he is my best friend,' says Ireland, 17. 'We can act stupid in public, private or wherever and we are always laughing.
While Slater, 18, lives in Maui and Ireland lives in Los Angeles with her mother Kim, the young model tells People.com they still find time to visit each other at least once a month and go on adventurous dates in their respective cities.
In fact, the pretty young Baldwin was spotted in Hawaii as recently as Sunday, learning how to paddle board with her boyfriend in the Pacific surf.
'We're outdoorsy people,' Ireland explained to the magazine. 'I love walks, hiking, exploring and being on the beach.'
'We don't do normal stuff,' Slater added. 'We go paddle boarding with humpback whales in Maui.'
'We go on athletic dates. And very romantic ones too. Like we will go to like a bluff and star gaze and go on trail runs and walk the dogs.'

While Slater has met Ireland's mother Kim and his parents have evidently become 'good friends with her,' the athletic new boyfriend has yet to meet Alec, who has a documented history of being volatile in various family-oriented situations.
'Dad hasn't personally face-to-face met him but he has virtually met him and he loves him, thus far,' Ireland says.
'We've talked on the phone; he's an awesome guy,' Slater explains about his interactions with Papa Baldwin. 'He said I'd love to meet you soon. Come to New York, there's great surf out here.'

Despite their obvious infatuation with one other, Ireland has been keeping the relationship in perspective.
'I have never met anyone who is a more incredible person in my life,' says the burgeoning young IMG model when asked how serious their relationship is becoming.
Yet she continues, 'we both have lives to live and we both have careers and a lot of aspirations and things to do before we think about that.'
