Hey members and friends of SUPVIC - a brief window of opportunity opened up and we have JUMPED right through it.

It's short notice but we will be running a SURF EVENT on Sunday 30th August on the Mornington Peninsula. Sign-in from 8am, register in advance preferred.

This will be a FUN and FRIENDLY comp for SUP surfers of ALL ages, levels and shoe sizes.

Emphasis on participation and good times.

Very unofficial then (but noting that one of the event organisers' shortest board is 10'8...).

If I duct tape my 7'4" Deep to my 7'8" Deep this will give me an "unofficial" 10'+ board, for the 'unofficial' 10 foot class. Yes?

Hey Hey SUP VIC crew and friends - the organising committee have reluctantly decided to postpone the Surf Event scheduled for this Sunday (conditions forecast to be , in a word, awful) and we'll aim to reschedule it for the following Sunday, 6th Sept. [SPRING!]

Just because the Surf Event has been postponed this Sunday doesn't mean that you can't hit the water. On Sunday the Maribyrnog Pod crew will be running the famous SUP 5.0 on the Maribyrning River just by Foot-a-scray rowing club – great way to set an early personal paddle fitness benchmark for the coming season. All welcome there!

AND

There will be a fun, informal BOP training session Sunday morning at Pt Leo. Meet at the Pt Leo SLSC at 7.15 for a 7.30 start. If you've never had a crack at surf racing, then here's your chance to get shown the ropes. Ideally a 12'6" is the best choice board, but a 14 will also suffice. We'll be done by 9 am, then head to the Pt Leo General store for the famed bacon and egg rolls.
All welcome there too.

Hmmmm, tossing coin between the river for a time trial and a little BOP training. Time to blow the dust off the BARK and dip the paddle back into the water.
Certainly doesn't look like we will need the suncream tomorrow....
