Out early with 2 other sup mates this morning, south of Cottesloe groyne. Lumpy, small (1-3' faces) & the breeze not far off. Kid on a shortboard started to chat to me, then told me he was at the beach at 5.30, checking out the waves (sun doesn't come up till 6.40!!), & he had come from Cannington (for eastern staters, suburb 24 kms east of the beach) on the train, an hour's journey. He started off from home at 4.30 am, then had to walk a km from the train station to the beach. All for a miserable little sloppy wave, & the breeze started to come in with a vengeance at 9. That's keen!

Mate that is keen good on him.
