Surf story was on channel sevens current affair show tonight.Click on the link if you missed it as you can watch the vidio on thier website.
Check out the Paddlesurfer getting cleaned up at chopes paddling over a wave[well almost] towards the start of the story.

i don,t reckon you could get any fitter or get better surf technique than supping.you would be hard pressed to find anyone, after a bit of adjustment, to say it was ruining their shortboarding. sure you might be a bit heavy footed first up, but its all good.

Tip,although Mitch appeared to be the young grom who struggled on his first chopes adventure,for the record this kid rips with a huge smile on the dial.
By far the best grom I've seen in 30 odd years,yep a big call,he will make the tour.

supping is a great cross train for prone surfing, jumping back onto my 6'2" shortie after a summer of non stop sup and i've never blasted as big or as critical or as many turns on one wave with the sure footed balance and ease that has come from all those hours on the sup.....
..... its just the getting no where paddling that sucks
