This arvo Helke, Mick and myself had about a two hour sech at St Kilda pier catching the little ankle slappers that came under the pier.

It was a typical 20 knot seabreeze and all the kiters were out and SUP'ing was not something I expected to be doing.

Helke got a big cheer from some guys watching from the pier when she caught a good wave.

I was catching some with just one stroke of my paddle because I was on the Glide..

Some waves where big enough to cause a big nose dive if you weren't careful..

Note to myself..Next time use a leggie.. ..and bring on Summer and more of those nice little waves..

In the sixties before I had a car license, we used to get Mum or Dad to drive us to St Kilda pier for a surf when the wind was strong onshore. Brighton Baths (are they still there?) was another good spot with an onshore wind for some grommets desperate for a surf on anything that resembled a wave.

One of the guys took some vid but I don't expect it to look that spectacular.. I'll post some if it's any good.

Robdog..There's a few spots around the bay that still attracts heaps of surfers..Mostly grommets..It's amazing how big the waves can get on the bay.
