If anyone is available this Sunday Morning and would like to join a group of us to paddle the Swan river, please come along.

We will be starting from Lucky Bay then paddling to Majestic Point then over the Point Walter, and returning to Lucky Bay. It should take about 1.5 hours at a casual pace.

We plan to start at 8.00am and return for a quick bbq around 10.00am. the water should be glassy at this time with the planned forecast.

This is just a social gathering for all sup riders and families, and anyone who has a kayak or ski and wants to join in is welcome.
It is not a race but intended to bring new riders together and make a show of numbers on the river in a fun non-threatening (condition wise) atmosphere where beginners to advanced riders can participate.

If you have a board you are welcome to be involved. 8.00am this sunday morning at the Lucky Bay carpark Melville.

See you all there.
cheers

Great idea, the profile of SUP needs some help in WA........I was out on the water in that region this morning, so Sunday should be the same pleasant and flat conditions for a good social paddle........come forth and paddle

This morning was a great success. Thanks to all who made the time to join in. Some making a rare appearance south of the river, cheers lads.

We had 20 paddlers join us on a perfect morning with just a hint of a breeze to help us on the downwind leg. We started out with clear and glassy and a bit cool first leg, then turned into a slightly chopped and 2 knot downwind breeze before returning to the smoother protected cove. The clouds gave a perfectly good cover to keep the heat down. This made the last leg less tiring.
The talk between paddlers got less and less as the last leg drained away some of the energy from a few, and the stroke rate slowed down as well. There were a few newcomers managing to get through most of the 10 km cruise and a few guys warming up before 2 weeks of surf holiday heaven.

Well done Anne and Lance for putting a big effort in on their first and second sessions. Lance made a big effort having only picked up his new board the day before.

I will post some pics a bit later. Thanks to all who participated and see you all when we do it again soon.
