Just got back from a fun weekend away with the family to an exotic SUPer's paradise which is only 40 mins from the Sydney CBD. Enjoy...

Car loaded with the essentials (twin PSHs) ready for the first (5 min) leg of the journey. Notice the new Sydney Paddle Surfing Club Sticker!

Boat loaded with the essentials ready for the next (20 min) leg of the journey.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Let's get out there.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Mum and Dad first up.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

We found a quiet little estuary.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

With beautiful scenery.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Later I headed off for a solo 5km paddle, wired for sound with my cool H2O Audio Pack.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Father and daughter head off for Late Afternoon Glass Off (LAGO) session.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

The wind had dropped and the sun was getting low.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

You have to get off and walk around a metal shark net to get to this little, protected inlet.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Paddling past the tree cam.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

There was a really deep, sandy drop off from one foot deep to VERY deep. The water turns a deep green/black where it heads off into the abyss.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

So glassy.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

The reflections were great.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

We found a little waterfall behind those rocks.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

It was so still and quiet except for the gentle trickling of the waterfall.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Back out through the entrance.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

The next day was a mirror image of the great weather.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

We found this little deserted beach a few bays around.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

This is good fun, hey?
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Son and daughter hit it by themselves.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Racing or splashing wars - not sure which.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Father and son spending some quality time.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Shooting the pier. Careful of that 9'3" Ripper on those oysters, boy.
/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

What a great weekend.

Interesting fin on that 12' gun

It's a big longboard "D" fin that I had on my traditional style noserider longboard. It's great on the 12' Gun - it tracks really well.

Nice one CASSO! Feeling a bit homesick on a family/relo Holiday OS and these pics remind me of what it is all about!! Beautiful stuff!

Caught my first Euro SUP contest today at Lacanau.FR.
Pretty tough conditions but the Frenchies gave it a good go!

SUP hasnt quite caught on here yet - don't know why - this area in the Basque country is perfect for it!!

This was Guethary last Wed- man we were lucky!! All the the surf guides said it would not get over 3' - we had 6'+ for 3 days! YEEHAA!

Very much looking forward to the first SPSC contest!

Catchya's

AA

PS: Pics to come when I can find some reliable WIFI and a good bottle of RED!!

Yeah, it seems it has. It was just so warm in the sun. Still cold at nights though. Looks like we have a whole week of the same coming up too.

Dunno about that!

My 8 year old was out on my 903 Ripper at Palmy on the weekend and surfing from out the back to the shorey she ripped an FCS side fin out in the shorey-one plug ripped out-it was a good wave though....

I've been to that spot heaps Casso-I can see it from my house-lovely-if you go a little further N across Broken Bay on a S-SE swell and NE-NW wind-you'd want the 808 DC-but I'm sure you know all about that wave...

Ooooooh. As an old Summer Bay (Palm Beach) local would say: "Those flamin' kids!".

Oh yeah! A couple of nice places over there in those conditions. Wife and kids not too keen on sitting in the boat, anchored in the swell, while I pull into a few though. More of a boys trip that one.

Great pics Casso.
What camera are you using for the stills, is it the Go Wide?

This makes much better reading than the morning newspapers over here.

I used three different cameras for those photos. My (non-waterproof) Canon S5IS with 12x zoom, my GoPro Wide (both in and out of the waterproof case) and my cheap Vivitar camera (non-wide angle in waterproof case).

No editing (except for cropping) or colour correction on any of those photos - they're straight out of the camera.

Nope, not there. It's Coasters Retreat and the Basin - a lot closer to home than Akuna Bay. Similar scenery though.

I agree with dogman. The format is reader friendly. It is like reading a photographic SUP comic. Good stuff.
