I hate tripping on my leggie and always untangling it from around my ankle.

Hmmmmm. I'm guessing that if it's a good idea then all the other manufacturers will rip it off and leashes will come with the weight as standard. I religiously buy a new leggie ... every time I buy a new board so if they're on sale then I'll get one.

I tend to get the leggie under my feet after the cuff has rotated to the inside of my ankle and it's pointing inwards. I can't say I've experienced the leash coiling up and tripping me.

The other day I did have some coils of leash beside the board and got the paddle hooked up a couple of times. It took no time or effort to free the paddle so it wasn't really a problem.
