OK, this is to help raise funds for the QLD Flood relief. Refer to Jaclko's post.

I thought I'd start this topic to co-ordinate a team. Lets try to get enough people to go for the full 24 hours and provide some support for those who are doing it in longer legs. Not sure of the details as still throwing it together and making it up on the way so please be patient. Great cause !!!!!

Below is a schedule of paddlers based on a 1 hour rotation. Every paddler needs to pay the $25 (or more if you like) and you need to paddle for 1 hour or you can put yourself down for multiple hours. Most are novices just out to lend support and raise money. I'll have a 14ft Glide there to paddle or you can paddle your own SUP. You will neeed to bring all your own water and food

Just post your name then send me a PM to confirm you contact details (mobile & email would be good). I'll update the schedule. Please only put your name down if you know you can attend, so negotiate the leave pass first

Obviously the night time will be the hardest to fill so if your nocturnal, please nominate !!

Update,

If you don't think you can paddle for an hour, try a tag team for a while on a lap by lap basis.

Lots of slots on Sunday morning.

It's all about getting people out on the water, showing support and having a good time.

UPDATE,

We now only have the 1.00am to 3.00am slot left. The hardest, anyone want to put there hand up. It would be great to see the team go 24 hours continuous - a real show of support for flood victims and others paddling.

It's going to be a great event. Thanks for all who have organised.

A huge thanks to all that paddled in Team EP.

The weekend was organised exceptionally well, the vibe was fantastaic and the achievement of the 24 hour paddlers was awe inspiring.

I wasn't sure what to expect but everyone was really laid back. I think everyone did much more paddling time than they were allocated and had a good time. I hope we have this event again.

We ended up with 15 team members, each of which paid their $25 (or more) donation. Some also brought some mates as well who paddled individually.

I camped out with my son for the weekend which was special. He got the team cap signed by all the three 24 hour paddlers and Jamie Mitchell. What was funny was that he started the weekend padlling his clubbie mal but finished by paddling the last 1 1/2 hours on one of Jamie Mitchell surf SUP's.

I also got to meet alot of new people from the SUP scene.

Can't thank all the organisers and participants enough.
