That's a shame some of the Qld shapers who are represented on here couldn't have signed up Paul!
What ya wanna bet that someone will be along here shortly and raise the "this is shameless advertising" banner up the flagpole?
Quite a resume! Good luck to ya Paul!
what oz shaper has the money to throw at local talent ,apart from the odd board at cost price there is nothing in it until we all support local shapers.and shame on you stndup for trying to incite a riot.jacko is an obvious race talent and deserves anything he can get from any corner.
Well, actually mate, it is often you who turns a thread into a local vs offshore issue........Guys come on here and discuss the boards they ride and even though most (90% anyways) have no incentive to support a particular brand, you manage to "incite a riot".
I spoke with the guy that you represent recently and he pretty much informed me his boards wouldn't work for me. It was really a shame that he didn't want to discuss how he might be able to design a custom board for me, my style (or lack thereof) and my location. I thought his designs looked nice and I had heard great feedback on them at the time.
I'm pretty sure that McTavish, Billabong, Rip Curl or any of the other major manufacturers here in Australia have the money to support an up and coming Aussie. NO, they aren't heavily into the SUP movement at the moment (in regards to board production), but they are massive conglomerates who could surely build some boards and sponsor some local talent!
My purpose for making the comment was so that I didnt have to read 10 pages of how Ali Cat was promoting Naish by making this announcement. Nuff said.............
ONCE AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS PAUL! Great to see the Aussie's breaking into ths sponsorship stakes!
