I purchased the Starboard 7.2 for Niki to learn on as it was listed as a kids board. She saved up doing chores around the house for over 12 months as she wanted a board like Kristi's so Kim and I put the rest of the money to it for her Birthday. It was her first really big purchase in life so it was really special to her.
I got the board sight unseen and when it arrived it was fine for flat water but had way too much volume for her to use in the surf. She loves it dearly but alas it didnt work.
Lacey was looking for a 7.2 SB and I wanted more appropriate board for Niki so he spoke to DC and with his help we all got what we wanted and struck a deal.
Dale was a pleasure to deal with, sent pics and was very patient whilst Niki made up her mind. He really understood how important it was for her to be part of what was going on and for this I am very greatfull.
Niki now has a DC8 on the way in a few weeks and is stoked to the rafters and then some.
This is what her new board will look like.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to Lacey and Dale who in the true Stand Up Paddle spirit helped us find a solution.
I may even be allowed to sneak this one out myself for a prone paddle or two.
The word from Master Yoda ( Casso ) is the DC8 Rips.
Best wishes
Phill
