Had a fun session at a windy Fairy Bower today. I was test riding the Paddle Surf Hawaii 10' All Rounder. A very nice board.

Here's a review I've just written up:

And here's the vid:

Lot of work putting that together Casso. Did you walk down the cliff or paddle from the beach?

Rod - It doesn't take me too long anymore. The first couple took ages though. We paddled from the Bower Restaurant - free parking there and an easy paddle across the bay.

DJ - Thanks mate.

Jake - Yeah I was using a C4 paddle grip. They are very nice - comfy, grippy and it creates a bit of a target when you swap hands quickly on a wave. Good visability in the water if you happen to loose it too. I was actually demoing the paddle too - a Kialoa Shaka Pu'u. It's an awesome paddle to surf with. I'll write a full review of this soon, maybe tomorrow.

I noticed the paddle and the way it was flexing...Warning...Don't go using it for too long because nothing else will feel as good afterwards..

On the subject of paddle pads aren't they 1 or 2mm boom grip. That stuff used to be every where.

I've tried boom grip and it's a bit too thick for my liking.

This C4 stuff is thinner and it also has an adhesive backing..That's something boom grip never had.

It is the same material tho...(I think).

HI DJ,

Agree with you on the thickness thing but not all boom grips are the some thickness. Even from our one supplier different colours come in different thicknesses. Yellow is the thinnest we've seen so far.
