Mac...I used to do this a bit too until I found out it has the opposite effect that you want. When you don't feed your body every 3-4 hrs, it actually goes into "survival" mode where it thinks you may be starving or in famine. So you body stores the fat in preparation for not getting food. It's getting ready for the famine. You will never lose weight if you only eat 1 meal a day. Your body will hold onto all the fat to "survive".
You gotta start eating small meals, good snacks every 3-4 hours to reboot your metabolism and stopping drinking also does this. It takes about 2 weeks for your body to reboot and then the weight will start dropping off.
I've lost 3 kg's in 4 weeks from not drinking, eating good snacks more (handful of almonds), swimming 2 x week and lots of paddling. Good luck all !!

P.S. A group of my girlfriends actually conduct a 6 week weight lose challenge between them 2 x year. It's for 6 weeks. They each throw in $100. And at the end of the six weeks the person who lost the most weight takes all the cash. Last time there were 10 in it so the winner got $1000. It's based on the % of weight lose of your starting weight. ie. If a 100 kg person and a 120kg person both lost 8kg...the 100kg person would win as it is a higher percentage of his starting weight.
Maybe you "Seabreezer" willing might want to start a challenge like this. ?? It certainly helps get you started and more motivated knowing others are doing it too and makes it a bit more fun also.
