Don't know which causes most pain...

The guilt you feel at the thought of skiving off work for a downwinder...

The pain you feel when you realise you can't bring yourself to do it...

The pain you feel when you drive into the work car park and realise that the Capitalist World really wouldn't have missed you for a couple of hours, and that you're a complete Loser...

I feel your pain. Farkinjarb's been encroaching on my lifestyle in a number of ways and to an unreasonable degree for the better part of a year now. I'm going to have to suck it up and get back on the pre-dawn training sessions before I forget what water feels like.

Thanks for the empathy Guys.

D'ya reckon I could call Bromwyn and ask her to pick me up in her helicopter and drop me up to St.Kilda to meet DJ?
Would save me some time, and my guilt and tax money has obviously paid for it anyway...

Too late for that one Helms, she's been relegated to flying drones. But it's all ok cos she was working within the rules

Indeed, or to quote an old buddy who's currently serving 3-5 on her majesty's pleasure...

Here's my sympathy:

Keep the change.

Whether you win the rat race or not, you are still a rat.

I pulled out of that car park 51 years ago...... and never went back.
Never had a job that interfered with surfing.... that was rule #1

No one missed me.

Thankfully we have you here on Seabreeze to provide us with inspiration supthecreek.

You'd be right at home here this morning - s/westerly off the Antarctic, water 10.2c, air temp 10.0c, wind chill @ 7.2c, raining.
So warmer in the water than out.

Was contemplating a swim, seeing as the water is warmer than the air temp, but unfortunately the allure of an office, 2 computer screens and another day of crunching meaningless numbers was just too much to withstand...

Mmmmmm sounds like depression to me, are you ok? Or is "are you ok day" next month? Not sure..
On a lighter note the wind has dropped, blue skies and its almost Spring weather here...
