Who's the big daddy of SUP in Australia?

The latest Outer Edge magazine (due out later this week) says that it's me..

You've gotta laugh..

When I told them that I was the first (that I knew of) to be SUP'ing around the St Kilda area I didn't expect them to print that I said that I was the first in Australia..

They also decided to go with some professional Naish pictures rather that the ones taken on the day around St Kilda pier... That's probably a good thing..

Their focus was on the fitness side of the sport and you can see that when you check out the artical.. and I didn't expect any special mention of me.

Check it out.. I hope they don't mind me posting these bits from the mag.. I'm sure I'll cop a bit of flack from those who take all this too serious..but I'll cope..

Hey DJ,

I read the post, the article sounds great. I say, good work, good promotion for the sport and a good easy read. On a lighter note at least we now know who the bid daddy really is, if not will the real big daddy please stand up, please stand up.(sup)

Jesus, I must be doing it wrong, I'm putting on weight not taking it off.
Might have something to do with the liquid intake after a great day on the water[}:)]

Nice article DJ. I reckon a better term would have been the godfather of SUP in Australia.

Summer has finally arrived - how good is it? The only bummer is that I'm too busy to enjoy it.

Thanks guys.. .. I think it turned out pretty good after all.. It sure could have been worse..

It is great that Summer has finally come to Melbourne..

The guys at Outer Edge magazine are still very keen to do a story on a SUP adventure.. I'll let you know what we decide on doing and when.
