Sorry crew. Im about to bore you with another one of my mast base videos.
Its in the middle of the board so all you see are my ankles. BOO!
I gotta get me a Casso Sucker Cam.
Anyway it was a super small day with some knee high clean up sets thumping through. It was scary big! But the 11'2 held up to its usual soul reputation.
No one surfing anywhere on the northern reefs. Ah the beauty of stand up paddle surfing. The tide was mid to high but wearing booties is essential for this place as the reef is basically untouched. Its never surfed. Its not a surfed wave. I was told today by a local longboarder who has lived in the area for 15 years that he has never seen anyone ride these waves other than me. I gave him a go while I watched his kids on the beach. He took to it like he had done it before. He got a couple of nice waves. He came in with a smile from ear to ear. I love seeing people do that. Watching someone stand up paddle for the first time and getting super stoked.
Anyway enough blab from me. Here is the video. Some things to look out for...
Going switchfoot, a toe high wipeout, me scratching my nuts and doing the shameful goatboat

Greenroom, North beach is such a buzz.

Was that you south of the Marmion fishing club on Sunday? probably.

Greenroom. I surfed today on an 11'2'' at the backbeach in Geraldton.

It was low tide, hollow and the easterly was howling. It was holding the overhead waves up and making it very difficult to get into them. I persevered and started to get wave after wave.

Today I took off on a left hander, steep, gnarly, hollow and quickly realised, I have never been here before in all my years of surfing.

Riding something that has the dimensions of a small boat.

11'2'' You will do

Nice one Greeny, keep it up.

Please refrain from doing that goatboating thing in the future - you're giving us a bad name!

Good job greenroom.

elbeau was that you out at back beach today? looked like a board with blue/white full deck grip.

Yes Cranky. Blue and white 11'2''
I was flailing around. That offshore was too blustery. Ended up at Sunset later when it settled, nice and sheltered, but not enough swell and too inconsistant. It has been great weather lately though and the swell has been quite good at backbeach

Sure didn't look like a 11'2 to me, thought you were on something smaller. I had a paddle at the point, nice conditions, maybe again tomorrow with luck.

nice vid!

try putting a little dishwashing detergent on your lens -just rub in a drop and then dunk it 4 or 5 times in the water before you mount the camera

it will keep the lens free of drops for about half an hour!

Don't you dare do the detergent thing. Some of those water drops were strategically placed to stop us from wanting to tear our eyes out.

If you're going to use that camera angle again please wax first. Maybe two pairs of boardies as well.
