If you could only have (keep) one board what would it be? Why?

Of the boards I actually own, 9'0" C4 batwing. Versatile, can ride it in most conditions and in a short or long board style( kind of). Paddles well enough on flat water and is reasonable to transport.
Dream one board quiver maybe a custom Sunova Speed.

Tricky, because I do most SUP activities eg. pure flat water, downwind (and upwind, crosswind, any kinda wind), as well as surf. So of the boards I already own, it would probably be my PSH 12ft gun. Or I'd buy something like the 12ft Bark Excursion, 12-6 Bullet, or maybe even one of the better-surfing 12-6 race all-waters boards. I'd rather give up surfing than downwinding... But I live somewhere where downwinding/downbreezing is possible nearly every day, whereas surf is a once-a week thing.

I said to my wonderful wife that it would take many boards to be as valuable to me as she is

About 7 years ago I sold my blame chambers 10.6.regretted it ever since was a great board, very fast. And I love the speed above anything else when it comes to surfing.

I have 5 sups but if only 1 I would choose my 10.1 x 28.5 deep longboard sup.... Great off the tail, great up the nose, great for distance paddling and great for kids to jump on the front for a ride

Well, in that case, I would probably keep the 8'10" Speeed because it is stable enough when it is crappy, surfs well enough when it is not, and I could paddle it when just cruising around. (But if I was going on a surf trip with just one board I would take the 8'7 Flow.)

I don't have room (or the budget) for multiple boards. So the question about Highlander board(s) is important to me.

No problem answering this question fro me.

Definitely Naish 14' Glide.

Sure doesnt allow me to me to surf but it can catch waves, can paddle anywhere on any body of water as fast or as slow as I like.

"There can be only one?"

Noooo there has to be 2.

1 surf SUP
1 Downwinder

I wouldn't want to give up my downwinding, so ATM if I had to have one it would prob have to be my 12'6 DC, ok for downwind (no where near as good as a 14 though) great for just general paddling and you can at least surf it a bit.

Sunova Soul 9'5.
Stable, light, surfs like a shorter board in ANY surf and the wife can take it out for a flat water paddle no dramas.

Bullet 17

I have enough options for surfing via different craft but the big girl is too magical...

Assuming everything in one board methinks I'd get a custom 12'6" V2 bullet. Flatwater-able, downwind-able, surf-able.

No hesitation:
9'2 Sunova Speeed.... good small to big, clean or choppy and it paddles really well,,,
a one board quiver that would meet all my needs very well.

No ..that would be dog paddling ..ET .

like having a bike with one wheel . one board.

but if you had to ..most of my mate who only have one ..10' and 10'6 seems to be the size ..they are 95 kg boys.
I think the question could be up to your weight as well.if you are deciding ,And then.

As much as I perish the thought, it would have to be my lime green Blue Planet Bump Rider, It always feel instantly comfortable, great 14' allrounder, best way to describe it is that it has a huge sweet spot.

While I love all 4 boards I have ranging from 7ft 4in Rh Hammer Head to a 8 2 Jp then the bigen 10 6 Nalu gt.

For the surf here, wave count, some flat water and exercise Nalu wins.
But it's not happening all 4 stay.

Bought a 9'8" element as first board because I thought it would make a good allrounder. It even has inserts for foot straps and a mastfoot. It hasn't disappointed. Heaps of glide, fun to mess around on with the kids, just about every one can paddle it, surfs great, only I find the volume a bit of a handful in the juice. One draw back in the surf is boards with extra length are generally easier to snap.
