So i go into the shop today and pick up a brand new Jp Pro Edition and get the rails taped and everything. I take it outside to put it on the roof racks to take it home feeling very happy about life. I put it on the roof and while getting ready to strap it on a gust of wind hits and blows it off the roof and it lands nose first half way across the car park and totally smashes the nose. Well didn't that just make my day as i'm extremely anal about my gear and like to look after it.
Anyway i'm about to take it to a board repairer but he says he is very busy and might not have time to do it before going on a trip. He is going to let me know tomorrow morning when he sees it. If this guy doesn't have time to fix it when i show him tomorrow who else on the Gold Coast does a really good job of repairing boards. I mean really good too because i want the board to look as close to brand new again as possible.

Try Peasey (SecretAgent on this forum), does an awesome job, but I'm not sure how busy he is at the moment.

Yeah.... give Peasey a Pm and tell him what you want and he will fix it.
He's a firey, so he's never too busy.

I feel your pain man, I'm a bit anal about my gear to, not as bad as my wife says tho, surely.
I think there is a positive side to this, you have had a once in a life time bad luck experience and now it is behind you. life is full of lessons and you just learned a tough one.
I hope you can get your board repaired well, to satisfy your expectations.

Pete.

I did the same with my Naish. The council are still trying to figure out how to fix the ceiling in the car park.

I feel your pain,

I had my car scratched twice last week in the car park, my board dinged on the rocks, then next day after it was fixed someone breaks my fin pushing his board in front of me on my first wave, few days later i take out my boat, the starter motor nut comes off whilst I start it on New Years day whilst in the middle of a raging current taking us out to sea on the busiest day of the year at this spot, get towed in and the guy tows my boat into another boats raised outboard, so boat now scratched, which now matches my car and my board!

Jesus you just made my whinge feel like it wasn't even worth having. That's a very bad run of luck i think i would have been in therapy if i got that much of my stuff damaged.
My board is in getting repaired now i will post how it turns out and who did it depending how good it turns out.

The other good one around the corner is Jack Knight. I've had the guy he employs do heaps of epoxy repairs over the years and he's always done a good job at a fair price with a good turnaround time.

Cheers

I just picked my board up from Dale Chapman who i got to do the repair on the nose. I have to say he did an absolutely f*@cking awesome job. I am probably one of the pickiest people around and when i walked in holding my breathe to see what the board looked like i was totally stoked. Very good to deal with and can back up what he says with his work. Thank you Dale i'm a very satisfied customer and hope i never have to see you again well i hope my board never has to see you again.
If anyone needs a board repair done i can recommend Dale without reservation and if you own one of the new JP's i know for a fact he has the fluoro orange and metallic silver in stock to match any repairs very close to the original colours.
Thanks SecretAgent too for getting in touch with me i appreciate it but the board was already at Dales' workshop.
