I was lucky enough to score good waves ( again ) at the Alley this morning with very few crew out including 2 guys on SUP, longboarders, shortboarders & a single lid. Vibe was great as everybody was battling the strong sweep and cheering each other on good waves. The major disappointment thought was the 3 skis doing tow-ins and zipping in and out of the line-up. The same thing happened yesterday afternoon at Sharkies off Burleigh.
My gripe isn't they were taking waves, smell ( they were 4 stroke) it is the safety issue. We all agree that they shouldn't be towing in the line-up when guys are paddling. I believe that it is only a matter of time before we have a terrible accident here on the Coast and someone is injured or worse still killed by a jet-ski in the line-up.
Now I am not anti tow-in as I have a couple of mates who do it regularly, however they go to the offshore reefs / breaks and are accessing breaks that it is not possible to paddle. It would be a shame that these guys could be stopped from doing this legally due to someones stupidity.
If we are to stop this I recommend that you try and make note of the make of ski / colour / colour of sled and inform the local police. These blokes only put their skis in at 2 places at Currumbin so even recording the rego of car & trailer would help. I realise that what I am suggesting is paramount to "dobbing" and as we all know "no-one likes a dobber" but we all saw the damage that an out of control ski did at the Quik Pro.

i think it was saturday this tool was running through the alley lineup. he had 3 up. as i was scamping to get over a wave when he came sideways at me trying to get over too. i,m talking about about 2m away at speed. i gave me my best mouthful. after a few more minutes of complete disregard for anyones safty. the whole place was abusing him. he got the message and went in.i rarely get worked up, but i was hopping mad
