Sure looks like it! Track maps showing TC heading south nicely. Lets hope the poor buggers up north get spared!

Tc Hamish looks like he might be a fizzer with his close to the coast track,but hey,BRING IT ON.We have the sandbanks,and holidays to,lol,COMEONNNNNNNNN HAMISH!!!!!!!!!!

Had 3 hours surfing in waist to shoulder height waves in Cairns today
looks like tomorrow it will pick up

Hey Simon good stuff . We had up to waist high here, sth townsille this morning.
Looking at the threat maps we should be peaking Sat/Sun morning.

Looks like heron island and lady elliot island are going to get absolutely smoked.
We are meant to have a school excursion to lady elliot in May. I think the island might be pretty trashed once that goes through.

Feel sorry for the guys who are going to get hit

Here's hoping the people in the path fair ok.

It should bring some great swell in though for us on the Sunshine Coast this week.

It can can create a great and long ride for those who are keen across the river mouth of Mooloolaba....

It just got upgraded to a catergory 5 with 270km winds , they are evacuating Fraser Island , they are saying if this cyclone hits shore it will be the worst in a 100 years.

Lets hope evryone gets through this safely and they are predicting 5 to 6m swells on the Gold Coast mid week.

I'll be checking the news report tonight,close to home if they are evacuating Fraser Island,I could be wrong but the weather has changed in the last hour on the GC! Hope it turns out to sea!

Yeah, Hope it does not cross the coast. After spending a month in Innisfail cleaning up after after Larry, i really hope Hamish stays well out to sea.
