I'm up for Friday morning.

Need to be in at work around lunchtime.

9.30 - 10.00 start from St.Kilda would be good for me.

Alan.

Hey DJ,
I'm still going to hit Westernport in the morning. Probably won't be big enough for "Bunker Bay", but you're welcome to join me.

I'll be good for Fri for a DW though.

Works imposing on me so an early start around 8.00 from St.Kilda will be my only option.

How was today's run? Seems like the wind was strong enough.

Todays run was really good fun, wind wasn't ballistic (we were a little early) but there were some great runners. I took the K15 and in those conditions DJ and I were effectively going exactly the same speed, interesting that two totally different boards, the K15 and the 14 Glide could be so similar. Fun on the K15 to not step back and let the nose just plough through the back of the wave in front, doesn't seem to slow it down much at all. Of course stepping back will lift it clear, I'm going to try it again tomorrow in hopefully much more full on conditions.

Cam and I will be there (at St Kilda) at 8am ready to go.. and we'll just need a lift back to our cars after.

Coming so far is Cam and I, Jonathan and Dave, and also Alan, Warwick and Pete.. Anyone else? .... oh yeah.. also Rea.

That's another no from me - doctor's orders.

But in follow up to Jonathan's report, I would love to see video of the K15 and the 14' Glide going head to head in a decent breeze.

We had a great DW run today.. We had gusts around 20-30 knots and Cam (Naish 17) and Jonathan (K15) finished first only a few seconds apart and Pete and I came in next on our Naish 14's also only a few seconds apart and next was Dave, Warwick and Hock.. It was great but I didn't take my camera because it was raining a bit when we started.

Wow, the K15 first home under human power*. Very impressive. How did it go catch and staying on the runners?

*Camo doesn't count owing to suspected bionic limbs.

The K15 astonished me today, there is no way I would normally be able to keep up with Cam on the 17 Glide (or Cam on anything!). The thing is just so fast and smooth and really seems to be able to maintain momentum brilliantly, dead sure it is the fastest down wind board I've had experience on, including my F14, 14' Penetrator or the Glide 14.
Who knows how it will compare with the 14 Glides in really full on 30 to 40 knot wind and much bigger waves but today with 20ish plus knots and smallish wind swell it was flying. Felt like I was cheating.

Jonathon, you were outa there this morning. All I saw from the distance were 2 specks disappearing into the distance. We should make it a rule that first home buys the coffee and provides the lift back to the start point!

thanks again Cam for the lift back

It never looks windy when the wind is dead off shore.. Can't wait for those honking northerlies next summer..
