This is an update for tomorrow.

Please park at or near the boat shed at Cotton Tree, Maroochydore.

We will be setting up about 200m towards the river mouth so give yourself time to walk there. This location is the best for both flat water and surfing styles of SUP.

The agenda is on the poster below this message. We wish to make this a family club and cover all aspects of SUP.

I look forward to seeing as many people as possible at this meet.

Thanks to everyone who came down today to join or attend the Sunshine Coast Stand Up Paddle Club. We had 10 families sign up and 3 singles. A number of others took forms home to send in latter.

This is a great start especially as a number of interested people were unavailable today. We also attracted a number of people by just being there who came and asked how to get involved. They may come to the next event. This club looks set to grow.

We had a day of getting to know each other and trying out a number of boards. Thanks to Kite Action for the lend of the boards for the demos. The 9'8' Starboard was a popular board.

It was good to put a face to the names. It was a fun day for all and a good location. The wind was up a bit from the North West causing the surf to be messed up so we went for a flat water paddle around Goat Island. It started out as a fun paddle as a group but my competitive nature got the better of me. Even cheating by trying to run over a sand bank never helped in trying to catch Sue. We will do time trials around here for future events at thiis location.

It was a good day for the kids with a lot of the families having children of a similar age. They created instant friends as kids do and had a great time.

A big thank you to Peter Nitscke from "Caloundra Wind and Surf Factory Outlet" who joined the club today. Peter is a local shaper with years of experience. He can be contacted on 54380674 / 0419670913. He also broght along a great custom board for us to try. Give him a call for repairs and SUP needs.

To help with keeping everyone informed about the club I put a basic club website together this afternoon. It will look better as I pretty it up with time. Feel free to check it out and send me some feedback on what you think should be on it. We are going to run a contest with a prize for a club logo.

scsupc.tripod.com/

It required atleast 6 letters so it stands for "Sunshine Coast Stand Up Paddle Club"

We will use this site to communicate directly with all the members as we have been. Our next event will be at the start of July and we will post the information about location and agenda in about a weeks time.

Cheers
Thanks for the day.
