I like that angle DJ. It gives a better view of the wave you're riding and the ones coming up from behind. Nice one

DJ love the angle its great to see the footwork etc and its a much more natural view than the crotch shots of old.

I realise those bumps were pretty small and maybe the wind wasn't super strong but it looks like with fixed fin boards people attack the wave and ride the wave very perpendicular.

I have noticed with the ruddered boards people tend to angle across the wave and work more in a zig zag pattern?

Was it just the size of the waves on the day?

Your thoughts?

The bumps were quite peaky on Saturday, there really wasn't a whole lot of face to run along, especially with 2 boards side by side. Also, the video might be slightly misleading but the wind and wave direction had a touch of east in it which made it a little bit off shore. If we'd run completely perpendicular, we would have ended up on the wrong side of the bay.

Thanks Phil.. PT is right.. But another reason that ruddered boards tend to zig zag across the waves is.. because they can..

Thanks DJ.

Where did you start and finish? Approx how far is that run?

Just trying to orient myself with my limited Melbourne knowledge.

Looks like you started up before ST Kilda.

Thanks
ET.

Hey DJ, now that you have done a couple of runs on the new board what is your feelings towards new vs old and are we going to get a comparison review like we did from the first glide to the second one? That was the best board comparison / review I've seen.

Thanks DJ, that camera angle is fantastic.
Shows your foot positioning and the timing for paddling really well.
Always look forward to watching your next vid.

Our Melbourne Maliko Run starts the the St Kilda Gulch and ends in the harbour at Sandringham..

It's about 9 kilms long and takes anywhere from about 45 minutes to and hour and a half.. ( depending on stops/ re grouping).

I still plan to do something when my own board arrives.. (Late Oct/early Nov).. The second Glide was a variation of the first Glide.. This new third Glide is a totally new and very different board.. It will be nice to show them side by side.. Rocker/rails/bottom shape etc.
