Lots of newbie questions regarding board size around here this week.
The question about "how small" to go keeps popping up.

Waves on Cape Cod were soft and low power this week, so I pulled out a bigger board to maximize the fun factor.

Easy in, easy to carry speed... so easy to carve around in gutless waves.

Video of surf yesterday.... riding a 9'5 x 31.5 at 150 liters.... super comfortable and super fun.
A smaller board would have been slow and boring.
(for volume reference, I am 106 kg... 70 years old)

yeah, this video plays on the insane Great White activity lately.
10' from the beach... big ones.... every day..... multiple interactions daily.
1 very serious attack in the next town.

Good for empty line-ups

Thanks for the stoke!
I was super stoked to come up with that song.... it added to the fun factor.

I figure as long as a camera is running, no shark will hit me... cuz Murphy wouldn't allow it.

Nice one STC !! Love your videos mate. This is why I went with the sunova style 10'6" XL. So much fun and so much stability up on the nose. Carve with ease and nose ride. Perfect

Hi Tao
I was on my 9'5 Sunova Soul
9'5 x 31 3/4" @ 150 liters

I was about to put it in storage.... but I had a thought, and threw a small pivot fin in the center box.
It really loosened the board up in fat waves and was super fun!

Now it's back in my "active" rack in the van

Video was shot on my SoloShot3
which began working perfectly after the July 16th update.

and the music was perfect

Thanks Rick,

Thought it it might have been the Soul. I like that board! Might have to add to the quiver. (read.... my obsession)

Hey, my girl was out in Noosa yesterday and talked to a local guy who is teaching himself to surf (sup) from your videos.
i thought that was really cool as they were also an inspiration for me back when you were riding Allwaves.

And now I'm drinking the Sunova Kool Aid too

Cheers

Hey Rick,

May I also ask your comparative opinion on the 9.5 Soul vs 9.4 Creek and what conditions you see each being most suited to?

Cheers
