G'day Crew,
I'm as green as they come to SUP, but after heading down south last weekend and have a few days on my mates board, I'm really keen to get my own. I'm mainly after something I can paddle on the ocean, and perhaps catch the odd small wave when I slowly get the hang of it, but until then it would mainly just be open water paddling along the coast.
I've spoken to a few retailers but been getting alot of different feedback as too which board is right for me. Any suggestions to what board?

I'm about 85-90 kilo and 6th tall. But after having been told so many different stories I'm at a loss. Even if anyone could put me onto a shop who knows there stuff, so I can get the right advice. Cheers in advance guys.

SOS in Fremantle or 2nd Wind in Melville - have been a customer at both and no dramas. 2nd Wind were great in getting a replacement paddle to me in Exmouth when I "lost" my other one there last year (long story and a bit embarrassing).

Good to hear your going south, you wouldn't want to go to a spot north of Perth to SUP - dangerous locals there.

Thanks guys.
Diver I didnt paddle, or plan on paddling anywhere near the larger waves just yet, I'll leave that to the surfers, that way I can learn without pissing off anyone, flat water for me for a while yet
