Why restrict yourself to WA, a few guy's over East are making some really nice boards. Courier costs will be around $70-$80.

I'm currently going through the process, don't like not being able to demo but I know what I'm after.

With who Sam? That seems really cheap.

Is your 10 8 still for sale? Thought you sold it.

Just have to ring around and make enquires with couriers I guess. The person I've been talking to has the contacts, he quoted around that price. I think they transport a lot of shortboards over regular, Even if it's double that, you would pay it for the right board.

Yep, Jimmy's gone.

Had a nice session this morning on the wifes 9'8. I tried the single fin, was OK up to head high. The sets would have been head and half and it wanted to skip out on the bottom turn, wasn't to bad after adjusting style and using the rail more. Will be good with the smaller middle and sides fins just need to get up there and get them.

Yep, Jimmy's gone.

Dave Katana of Katana Surfboards in Osborne Pk will make a custom sup for "$1600-1800" with balsa veneer/epoxy.
I'm thinking of going custom too, outgrowing the 9'8" Starboard rapidly, only had it 3 months (whereas rode first sup, JL 11', for 16 months before going shorter).
It's tough trying to get the "perfect" sup, when you've gotta stick to one. Casso's 8'8" sounded really interesting, but as soon as he got to the description of "just 3-4 paddles before swapping sides", that killed it for me.
Don't want a sup with excessive yaw, instability, &/or minimal glide.
Do want a sup that I can turn on a pin (especially cut-backs & rapid spin-arounds), & is going to be great in Perth's 1-4' surf, but also good for the occasional trip to Margs or up north.

Shorter's not necessarily the way. Greenroom, at 65kgs, is 8kgs lighter than me & rides an 11-footer. Hilly, on the other hand, much bigger than me, rides a 9'6" ripper. I reckon I could go to about 9'3", but feel that any shorter may create too much yaw & instability, i.e. comfort. Supping doesn't need to be hard work!

What to get?? Stone & Sammy (& others), please let us know if you find anyone else to custom-make at a reasonable price. (Where are you getting yours from Sammy?) Starboards seem to be selling at around $1600-1700 retail (made in Thailand), interesting to see what some of the local guys could do.

Guy's I'll see how things go, I won't name anyone just yet as I'm not sure what his intentions are in the future. When I find out more and to what capacity he wants to get involved with shaping SUP's. It's more than likely he reads all these topics and will get in touch with you by PM or put a mention on here himself.

So far from what I've seen the designs look good and you can see he's a SUPer and has good knowledge of surfcrafts. Plus I know the person he bounces ideas off and he makes some very nice surfcraft in particular Mal's.

Will let you know how it goes further down the track

Hi Guys,

You need to talk to Boardbumps (Rod Hocker Surf shapes) Ask him about boards and cost etc you will get a great board at a very reasonable price and your cash will stay here.

If thats not an option I can thoroughly recommend the psh 9'6WAA even with my wide ass on it it truns on a dime and doesnt yaw I can paddle one side no issues!

I have recently gone to a PC 7 center fin and GL sides and it makes a huge difference.

The only issue is I have 20kg+ on you guys at 105 kegs

Its two hundred dollars from Coffs Harbour to Perth. Out side of Perth it doubles. Don't forget SUPA boards are around .6 m3.
