Hi
Just wondering if anyone has ridden the Walden SUP I have a 9 foot Magic model (normal mal) its the best mal I have every used. A local shop has the SUP bottoms shape looks the same, interesting rail shape and nice pad sunk into deck. However no one at the shop SUP,s and its not for demo. I have ridden both Naish boards has enyone out there tried this board?? Thanks Rod

Hi there rodkite...I've had go on the Walden Magic model SUP board and really liked it.

My only grip is that there's no carry handle or hand hole system like many other boards have..and at about 31" wide it's a wide bugger to try and carry.

Even with the carry hassles..I'd buy one.

i have heard it may have some, er, construction issues. this may have been just the one sup board in question, i can't remember, but you might ask your dealer about it and see if he's heard anything.

Hi Rod ,

I have ridden the Walden in the waves and found it much more manoeuvreable than say the Kalama 11'6"from Southpoint.
Walden 10'10 has great plan shape and more rocker in the bottom to help this board turn.
What do you weigh ?? this board is fine up to 95-100kg's....and stable at rest being 31" wide.

I would recommend this board for sure !!

Today I sussed out what these construction issues are..if any.

The only issue is that the Southpoint boards tended to chip easily along the rails from paddle wacks..

The Southpoint also have a slight issue with the grip lifting sometimes at the edge..

This issue has been addressed with a stronger top coat..and stronger glue..So I've been told.

There's no issue with the boards construction..They're tuff boards...Here's some pics that I took the day I had a go on it.

now that i think about it dj you're right, it wasn't a construction issue at all but a flaking issue. glad to hear it's been corrected!

Yeah im really liking the look & sound of this 10 10 " walden, although the tail looks a little to wide for the surf, were i will be spending 90% of my time, also it dont seem to have much rocker, but being 100kg it may be perfect for me
