What did you think of it DJ ??
I rated the coverage, some great editing with the go pro's
that has to be the best location for a BOP race, glassy water with small bumps.

I thought it was excellent.. 10 out of 10..

The best sup coverage that I've seen for sure.

Those who haven't watched it should..

No live coverage for BOP (again) this year makes me sick as their goal is to put together a slick little production like the "Showdown". I enjoyed watching it, but it's really pointed at SUP novices and without the raw power and emotions of a live coverage. And seriously, what race where Annabel shows is she not the favorite? Luv Candice, but not the local production hype.

As a So Cal local, I didn't show up at BOP this year because the venue was nowhere near as spectator or racer friendly as Doheny. The crowds were thin and the open event had half as many entrants as last year. Hope Gerry and crew can get their act together, either back to Doheny or they're welcome to come down to my hood, Mission Beach. A much better venue then even Doheny and we're use to hosted world class events.

I thought it was a waste of good footage. It didn't tell the "story" of the actual races. I should have been gripped and involved (even when I know the outcome) and invested in the racers (through eg. interviews beforehand) and I wasn't. Then there's the usual sad advertising guff, cheesy product placement, and random breaks that you get on US TV.

I'm very grateful to Robert for sharing this with us. But, in reference to the BOP, no way in hell does anything even this glossy come close to having live footage broadcast during the race itself, even if the pictures are far less glossy than in this vid.
