With the tragic loss of a young athlete training on a calm canal last week all Sunshine Coast Stand Up Paddle Club members must have their membership current to insure you are covered by Surfing Queenslands insurance policy..Lake,River or Surf sessions no membership no start. To make paddlers easily located in the event of a cardiac trauma or sudden collapse leg ropes to be worn at all times..Lake ,River or Surf ,advanced or beginner,no leg rope no start.

Thanks

Hi,
Got a question maybe someone (a clubie might be able to help) tradgic incident with the young clubie, really hit home in our house hold how easy something can go horribly wrong in the water at any time..
Question is
I have always wondered if leg ropes would be introduced to clubie/nipper boards etc. it has just made sense to me that a leg rope isn't just for the safety of ur board not flying off and hitting someone else or the connivance of not having to fetch your craft from the shore once coming off but it is a floating life line that keeps you from disappearing under were no one can help.?? Or is it actually more dangerous to have one attached to you ?? Thoughts ??
